I make websites.
…and sometimes, print artwork. Mostly websites though.

New labs project: Crime Risk Map
View crime statistics from your area with Risk Map. I felt that Police.uk website for crime statistics lacked a couple of features.
- Police.uk doesn't display all the crimes at the default zoom level, instead 'clustering' them, presumably for browser-performance reasons.
- It is not possible to draw comparative conclusions about areas, for example the relative safety of city vs country living, since you are only given an absolute number of crimes. I used a population density API to solve this problem.
- Police.uk lacked a tabloid-style scaremongering risk estimation to enhance social sharing. I did not make this mistake.
